Poor cellular connectivity irks Jio subscribers in Renzipora Pulwama
'Tower out of order for last 15 days'
Pulwama: The residents of Renzipora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday complained of poor cellular services provided by the Jio cellular company, leaving them high and dry.
The residents said the mobile internet speed has reduced to less than 2G speed while they are also facing problems in connecting voice calls from Jio mobile numbers.
The residents complained that the Jio tower installed in their locality was defunct for the last 15 days.
“We are annoyed with the poor cellular services provided by the Jio Company. We tried to approach the customer service executives and engineering teams of both the companies but all in vain,” said a local resident.
The residents said they started facing the connectivity issues for the last two weeks and till date the concerned company has failed to resolve the issues.
“In today’s life everyone knows the importance of mobile connectivity and networking, but the Jio company has left the Renzipora tower defunct which is giving tough time to locals,” said Irshad Ahmad a local resident.
The erratic network has left government employees and students disappointed as well.
The students preparing for various competitive exams complained downloading study material from the internet has become a tough task for them owing to the poor internet speed.
“A small 2mb or 5mb document or any small video takes at least 10 minutes to get downloaded. It consumes a lot of time for students who are relying on online classes,” said a student.
Another local said that they were calling concerned tower employees who assured that they will rectify the problem soon.
“But, since the last few days, they have stopped taking our calls,” another local said.
Locals said that the exams of students are approaching and everything is dependent on mobiles.
The residents urged the higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest and solve their issue immediately.
