Police holds anti-drug awareness rally in Budgam
Srinagar: Police and District administration Budgam on Saturday organised an anti-drug awareness rally under the banner of “Prevention of drug addiction”.
The Police spokesman said the rally was organised in collaboration with civil society and local media and was attended by students and staff members of Government Boys Higher Secondary School (HSS) Budgam, Government Girls HSS Budgam, Anganwari workers, officials of Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Journalists Association Budgam, Municipal Committee Members, officials of PHE Budgam, youth and other respectables of the Budgam.
The awareness rally was flagged off by DC Budgam Shri Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid-IAS at Behsti Zehra Park Budgam along with DySP Hqrs Budgam Shri Naeem Wani-JKPS, DySP DAR DPL Budgam Shri Owais Rashid-JKPS and other officers of civil administration & police, senior members of trade Union Budgam.
The rally passed through Bus Stand Budgam, Main Market Budgam and Culminated at Main Town Budgam.
On the occasion, DC Budgam appealed to the general public to join hands with administration and Police in curbing the abuse of drugs & related substances to eliminate this social evil from society.
Students and other participants were holding banners and placards in their hands with messages against substance abuse and raised slogans against the social evil and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from the society.
