‘Harud’ festival concludes in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The three-day sports festival “Harud” organized by the J&K Sports Council concluded in the Indoor Hall of Nilandrusu, Bijbehara in south Kashmir on Friday.

The sports festival was organised in collaboration with team Seven Stars under the ‘My Youth My Pride’ programme.

On the final day, events in various disciplines were conducted with more than 650 participants.

The Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council Bashir Ahmad Bhat presided over the final day as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhat lauded the skills of the participants and said that with fine-tuning of the experts from relevant fields, our athletes can give competitors a run for their money.

“I am sure each one of you will work hard to make your mark felt sooner than later and bring laurels to the union territory of J&K,” he said.

The sports competitions for both boys and girls in several sports disciplines were held over the past few days which witnessed a massive participation of players from adjoining areas of south Kashmir.

The officers and officials from police and other civil departments also attended the function on the final day.
