VC LCMA kick-starts plantation drive in the catchment area of Dal Lake
SRINAGAR: The Vice Chairman (VC) LCMA Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat on Saturday kick started a plantation drive in the catchment area of Dal Lake.
Around 70 students from different schools also participated in the drive who were made aware about the importance of a tree. The students were told that such drives develop a responsive behaviour among children.
Speaking at the occasion, the VC LCMA said that planting more trees was the need of the hour as these measures will help to arrest the silt and erosion which is affecting the lake.
He informed that this season LCMA is going to plant about one lac plants in the catchment area of Dal Lake. He urged people to plant the trees.
