Khelo India Wushu Women’s League to be held in Srinagar

Srinagar: Khelo India Wushu Women’s League zonal competition will be organized in Srinagar, President, Jammu and Kashmir Wushu Association, Vijay Saraf said.

He said that the competition of this Women’s League under Khelo India will be organized from 04 to 07 November at S K Indoor Stadium, Srinagar.

“Only women players will participate,” Sarraf informed, adding that only women players of sub-junior, junior and senior categories will participate in this competition.

“Players from Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Ladakh, Haryana including host Jammu and Kashmir will participate in the event,” he aid.

He said that a Steering Committee has been constituted for the successful conduct of this competition and all the preparations have been completed.

Specially present on this occasion, Project Officer, Sports Authority of India, Krishna Kumar gave instructions to the members of the organizing committee regarding the organization of the Women’s League.

Kuldeep Handu of the Organizing Committee informed that a cultural program will also be organized on the opening of the competition on 4th November 2022 at 3 pm and the closing ceremony on 7th November at 2 pm.

On this occasion, General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Wushu Association, Bhavneet was also present. She told that there is lot of excitement in this state’s international and national medal winning players like Sadia Tariq, Munaza Ghazi, Kaifa Sah, Hina, Madia, Aira, Ansa, Alija Sah about this league.

On this occasion Secretary Sports Council Srinagar Nujjat Gul expressed his gratitude towards Wushu Association of India and Sports Authority of India for giving responsibility of organizing this event to Srinagar.

The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Kumar Sinha extended his best wishes to the players participating in the league.
