Dr Samoon reviews physical, financial status under Capex Budget 2022-23
JAMMU: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Thursday chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress under Capex Budget 2022-23 and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) at civil secretariat, Jammu.
Threadbare discussion was held on latest work wise detail regarding both physical and financial progress achieved under centrally sponsored schemes including status of new Polytechnics of CAPEX Budget 2022-23 of the department.
The meeting was attended by Director, SDD, Sudershan Kumar, Mission Director, Skill Development Mission, Leena Padha, Special Secretary, SDD, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, JD Planning, Sapna Salathia, Chief Engineer, R&B, Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Engineer JKPCC, FAO, SDD, all concerned Principals and Superintendents of Government Polytechnics, ITIs Jammu and Kashmir and other concerned officers attended the meeting in person and virtual mode.
Principal Secretary held a detailed project wise review and enquired about the present status of all the ongoing development works besides assessing physical and financial progress on projects taken up during the current financial year 2022-23 under Capex budget.
Dr Samoon asked the concerned heads of the executing agencies to expedite the remaining ongoing works so that the buildings would be handed over to the department at the earliest. He directed the concerned officers to take appropriate measures for execution of new works under both the sectors ‘Polytechnics as well as ITIs’ to ensure utilization of funds earmarked for the purpose under Capex Budget 2022-23.
Earlier, the meeting was informed that the annual allocation for the year 2022-23 was to the tune of Rs 4175.00 lakh under Capex budget while an allocation of Rs.1076.66 lakh has been approved for completion of 26 ongoing works.
It was also informed that 22 new works have been approved with a provision of Rs 616.29 lakh including several works mostly related to provision of water, electricity, roads and hostel facilities in the newly established Polytechnics. Besides, tenders have been issued for 6 works while 4 works are under tendering process and funds to the tune of Rs.308.15 lakh (50%) stand released.
