KVK, Srinagar organizes PM KISAN Samman Sammelan at SKUAST
Farmers from different parts of District participate in event
SRINAGAR: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, a programme was organized by KVK at SKUAST, Kashmir in connection with PM Kissan Samman Sammelan.
The event witnessed a large participation of people from different parts of the District including PRI members, Progressive/Marginal/Small farmers and Women Entrepreneurs.
Head KVK Srinagar chaired the event. While Sr. Scientist and Field functionaries of Department of Agriculture and Scientific/ Supporting staff of KVK also participated in the programme.
On the occasion, the participants watched the speech of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in virtual mode.
After culmination of PM’s speech, Dr Sajad Mohiudin (Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Srinagar elaborated to participants about the the need to upscale farm production through better and judicious use of inputs, integrated farming system, Skill Development trainings and adoption of a holistic approach that is sustainable and at the same time eco-friendly as well.
On the occasion, an interaction session was also held and the participating farmers interacted and raised various issues/ queries related to cultivation and insect/ disease management of agriculture/ Horticulture crops which were satisfactorily replied by concerned.
Earlier, Scientist Fruit Science, Dr Rayees, formally welcomed the farmers and other participants and highlighted the importance of the event.
