Police arrests drug peddler in Awantipora
Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson said on Saturday.
The spokesman said a police party intercepted a person in a suspicious manner at a naakah established at Padgampora.
“During the search, 9Kgs of grinded Cannabis was recovered from his possession,” the spokesman said.
Police have identified the accused as Mohammad Ashraf son of Abdul Kabeer Wani resident of Padgampora Awantipora.
“He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody,” the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 206/2022 stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated as well, he said.
