Infiltration bid foiled along LoC in Uri, 3 terrorists killed
Srinagar, Aug 25: An infiltration bid was foiled along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir, officials said on Thursday.
Army troopers noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in Kamalkote area of Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the officials said.
They said the troops challenged the intruders and there was an exchange of fire.
Due to inclement weather, including foggy conditions, the fate of the intruders was not immediately known, the officials said, adding, a search operation was underway.
Meanwhile, a police official said that the bodies of all three terrorists have been recovered along with arms and ammunition.
Meanwhile, Kashmir zone police on its official Twitter handle also confirmed the killing during an infiltration bid in Uri sector.
“Army and Baramulla Police neutralised 03 infiltrators (FTs) near Madiyan Nanak post in Kamalkote sector of Uri. More details to be followed,” police tweeted. (with inputs from PTI)
