Newly elected President Traders Federation Sopore takes oath
Sopore: The newly elected president of traders federation Sopore Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie took oath on Saturday during a function held at Sanctorum public school here.
On the occasion President Municipal Council (MC) Sopore Masrat Kar was the chief guest.
SHO Tarzoo Sopore Imtiyaz Ahmad, outgoing president Qazi Hashmatullah Hashmie and Presidents of traders federation of Srinagar, Kupwara, and Handwara were also present on the occasion.
A large number of people including trade fraternity of Sopore, officials from Sopore administration, civil society members, members of Anjuman moin-ul-islam Sopore, fruit traders body, coordination committe Sopore, Industrial association Sopore, members of Press club of Sopore and other people of the town were present on the occasion.
The presidential election of trade body Sopore was held on July 30 of 2022. Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie got 1028 votes while his opposite candidates Rayees Ahmad Kaloo got 918 and Zaffar Iqbal Bhat got only 369 votes.
After taking the oath, the new president said that it is the moment of honour for him for being elected as president of the trader’s body.
“We will jointly work for the development of traders as I have worked in the past,” he said.
