Teachers Forum Baramulla organizes event to honour trade union leader
Baramulla: Teachers Forum Baramulla organises grand function in honor of its outgoing Chairman and Veteran Trade Union Leader Mohammad Rafique Rather, a statement issued here said.
Various Trade Unions, Civil society members, Journalists, social and religious leaders, activists, District members, Zonal Presidents of JKTF Baramulla besides a large number of teachers graced the occasion with their presence.
The function was attended by central, provincial leaders and all district presidents of Kashmir valley besides a large number of teachers, the statement added.
The speakers highlighted the rich contribution of Mohammad Rafique Rather and termed his role as an exemplary and unparalleled who devoted his 25 years for the service of others. They also recalled that the outgoing Chairman has proved his mettle and capabilities which would cherish memories for a long time.
District President Baramulla Ishfaq Shaha while addressing the gathering said that Mohammad Rafique Rather was an advocate of egalitarianism and integrity in the employee’s fraternity, rising from the ground, became the President EJAC/Chairman JKTF.
“Even after passing two years in the pandemic, his tenure will be remembered for many important achievements and role in safeguarding the honor, dignity and rights of employees,” he said.
Speaking in the occasion Karamat Qayoom Senior Journalist said that the outgoing Chairman has always remained at the forefront in highlighting the issues and concerns of the employees of J&K.
Mohammad Amin Khan Vice Chairman JKTF while speaking recalled the services of the outgoing chairman applauded the diligence, commitment and exemplary devotion towards his duties and responsibilities throughout his entire career as a teacher and trade union leader.
On the occasion Rafique Rather in his eloquent address stirred the head, heart and emotions of the audience. He recalled the time when he first joined Trade Union and said that he will always consider himself as part of Teachers Forum family but the leaders of this organization should find their unique drum beats and not to loose their identity in this era of herd mentality.
Rather also thanked his functionaries for organising such a function in his honor and love.
