Police arrests four drug peddlers in Budgam

BUDGAM: The JK Police have arrested four drug peddlers including a lady in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession as well.
In a handout issued here, the police spokesman said that a Police party of Police Station Budgam intercepted a suspicious person at a checkpoint established at Dafpora. “On seeing the police party he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party,” he said.
Police have identified the accused as Aijaz Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Amin Khan resident of Dafpora.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 1232 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody,” the handout reads.
The police has registered a case vide FIR No. 273/2022 under relevant sections of law in Police Station Budgam and investigation have been started as well.
The spokesman further said that one more notorious drug peddler was arrested in a case registered vide FIR No. 271/2022 of Police Station Budgam in which five drug peddlers were arrested and three vehicles were seized on August 11 of 2022.
“The accused was evading his arrest. He has been identified as Parveez Ahmed Dar @Pare Punjabi son of Mohammad Anwar Dar resident of Dar Mohalla Nasrullapora,” the police handout reads.
He said the Police Station Budgam received specific information that a couple living in a rented accommodation near Railway Station Budgam is actively involved in sale of contraband substance.
“During search of the place, Police party recovered 4grams of Heroin like substance, one digital balance and some insulin syringes,” the police handout reads, adding that the duo has been identified as Shah Faisal son of Gulzar Ahmed Shah and (name withheld) wife of Shah Faisal, residents of Mohanpora Ompora.
“They have been arrested and shifted to PS where they remain in custody,” it reads.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 274/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation have been started into the case as well.
