Days of fear, terrorism in JK are over: Lt Guv Manoj Sinha
Srinagar, Aug 15: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that the days of fear, corruption and terrorism were over in J&K.
Addressing the Independence day function at the SK cricket Stadium in Srinagar he said that the days of fear, corruption and terrorism were over in J&K.
“Nobody will display a Pakistani flag in Kashmir now. Everybody will display the national flag for which the people of J&K have special pride and love,” he said,
He said that J&K is on the move. I call upon every section of the society to make their valuable contribution to a happy, peaceful & prosperous UT.
“On this Independence Day, let us take a pledge to make J&K Nasha-Mukt, Bhrashtachar-Mukt and Rojgaar-Yukt,” he said.
He said that the administration has decided that 5th August will be celebrated as ‘Freedom from Corruption day’ every year in J&K and continuous drives against corruption will be done throughout the year.
“My heart is filled with ever-lasting gratitude towards the brave soldiers of Maa Bharti. We have decided that a Balidan Stambh shall be established in Srinagar in memory of the brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives defending our beloved motherland,” the Lt Guv added.
