Full dress rehearsals for I-Day, 2022 held across Kashmir
SRINAGAR: A full dress rehearsal function was held on Thursday across all the districts of Kashmir, giving a glimpse of the grand spectacle to unfold on Monday.
The rehearsal was held in connection with the 76th Independence Day being celebrated on August 15 of 2022.
The rehearsal is a precursor to the actual Independence Day parade scheduled to be held on August 15 to present a glimpse of preparation for an impressive show of colourful events on National festival to exhibit pride of nation.
In Srinagar, the full dress rehearsal was held at Sher-e-Kashmir stadium where Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang Kundbarao Pole hoisted the National flag and took salute from parade commander and contingents besides inspecting the parade of contingents.
The contingents that participated in the March past parade included Police, JKAP, CRPF, SSB, lady contingent of Police, IRP, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, Pipe and Band contingents, NCC and student contingents from 14 schools of district Srinagar besides civil defense department which participated first time in the parade.
Meanwhile, artists of cultural academy and other troupes besides, students performed colorful cultural programmes amid the national patriotic songs and local popular songs which enthralled the audience and invoked huge applause.
Baramulla: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf unfurled the tricolor, took the salute at the march-past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, SSB, Home Guard and students of various schools and inspected the parade at District Police Lines (DPL) here.
The ADDC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event at the venue.
In his address, the ADDC lauded the importance of Independence-Day celebration and said that this year Independence day is celebrated as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India.
He also highlighted the various developmental activities registered by different departments in the district and achievement under different welfare schemes during the current financial year.
Colourful cultural items and theme based skits as a part of the full-dress rehearsal were presented by students and well-known artists.
Anantnag: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh Saturday unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade. He took salute at the march past presented by the contingents from CRPF, J&K Police, Home Guards, NCC and school Children at Government Degree College (GDC) Boys Khanabal.
The importance of flagship programmes like Har Ghar Trianga was highlighted on the occasion.
On the occasion, colorful cultural programmes on patriotic themes were presented by the students from schools and artists of the Information department.
Budgam: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Budgam Dr Akramullah Tak Saturday unfurled the tricolor, inspected the parade contingents and took salute at the March Past presented by contingents of JKP, JKIP, CRPF, Home Guard, NCC and school students at the Sports Stadium.
During his address, the ADDC paid rich tributes to the martyrs and highlighted the role and sacrifices of freedom fighters for India’s Independence.
Various cultural programmes were presented by artists and school children.
Similar Rehearsal functions were also held at all SDM and Tehsil Headquarters.
The function was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, ASP, all concerned DySPs, district and sectoral officers and other concerned.
Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ganderbal, Shyambir unfurled the tricolor, inspected the parade and took salute at the march-past presented by the contingents at Qamariya Ground, here.
The DC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event at the venue.
In his address, the DC complimented all the departments engaged in preparations for hassle free celebration of 76th Independence Day.
He said that various activities under Har Ghar Tiranga are going in full swing in the district in which people from all walks of life are participating enthusiastically to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India.

Pulwama: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pulwama, Dr Abdul Aziz Sheikh Saturday hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past comprising contingents from CRPF, District Police, JKP Womens wing, Home guard and school children from various educational institutes at District Police Lines (DPL).
On the occasion, local artists presented cultural programmes, patriotic songs and skits.
The artists from the information department and youth services and sports also mesmerized the audience with patriotic songs.
Senior officers from Police and civil administration, school children and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Similar function was held at DPL Awantipora where ADC Awantipora Muhammad Zaffer Shawl hoisted the flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JKAP, JKP, CRPF, NCC cadets and school children.
Shopian: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, Forest Protection Police, Fire and Emergency, Home Guard and contingents of various school children at DPL.
Addressing the gathering, the ADC said that after independence the nation has achieved the highest goals of success in every field of development. He enlisted various projects that were executed in the district in different sectors viz. health, education, R&B, JJM, KPDCL, RDD etc and said that the district has recorded splendid achievements on multiple fronts.
Underlining the need of maintaining peace and communal harmony for development, ADC said that Shopian district is a glaring and shining example of brotherhood where people of different faiths and communities co-exist peacefully.
School children of various educational institutions also presented cultural programmes on the occasion.
Kulgam: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam Riyaz Ahmad Sofi Saturday unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Women Police, Home Guard, Police band, students from schools and other contingents at DPL here.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC congratulated the people and highlighted the developmental scenario of the district and achievements recorded under various schemes and sectors in the district.
Cultural programmes were also presented on the occasion by the local artists.
ADC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; ASP Majid Hussain and senior officers from civil and police administration were present on the occasion.
President Municipal Council Kulgam, PRI members, students and people from various areas of the district participated in the function.
Kupwara: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara Ghulam Nabi Bhat hoisted the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute on March-past presented by contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, FPP, JK Home Guards, Police Commandos and school children at DPL here.
ADC congratulated the audience on the eve of the celebration of 76th Independence Day.
He said that district administration is committed for holistic development and enlisted developmental activities and achievements.

Full dress rehearsal functions were also held at Handwara, Karnah and Sogam sub divisions.
At DPL Handwara, ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the March past. Cultural programmes were also held on the occasion.
At Karnah, SDM, Dr.Gulzar Ahmad Rather hoisted the tricolour and took a salute on the March past. Cultural programmes were also held on the occasion.
Bandipora: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora Afsar Ali Khan Saturday hoisted the National Flag, inspected the parade and took the salute at the march past comprising contingents of CRPF 3rd battalion, J&K Executive Police, J&K- IRP, J&K Fire and Emergency, SPOs, Home Guard, NCC, Students from various schools followed by police Band Group at S.K Stadium, here.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC appreciated and congratulated all the participants and organisers of Tiranga Rallies across the district.
On the occasion colorful cultural programmes, depicting patriotism, culture and the message of the national anthem was also presented by various schools.
SSP Bandipora Mohammadd Zahid, ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, ASP Bandipora Ashiq Hussain Tak, ACR Bandipora Parvaiz Rahim, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad and heads of various departments, district officers along with senior officers were present to witness the full dress rehearsal.
Chairman MC Bandipora was also present during the full Dress Rehearsal function at S.K stadium besides the general public.
