Thousands participate in Mega Tiranga rally at Kulgam, Bandipora

KULGAM/Bandipora: A grand celebration with a Tiranga rally was held on Thursday at Sports Stadium Kulgam and SK Stadium Bandipora
The rally was held as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’,
At Shopian the function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat along with SSP Kulgam Dr. G.V. Sandeep.
Thousands of youth and students participated in the event and the surroundings reverberated with patriotic songs.
Speaking at the event, the DC said that the idea behind ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
Meanwhile, a series of activities like rallies, debates, quiz, painting competitions and cultural programmes are being organised throughout the district to promote the campaign.
Meanwhile, the district administration Bandipora also organised a Grand Tiranga Rally at S K Stadium to sensitize people about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
Over 12000 students participated in the rally along with teachers besides officers and officials from district administration.
The rally was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed; SSP Bandipora, Mohammad Zahid; District Nodal Officer Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; Joint Director Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad; Chief Education Officer Bandipora, DySP HQ and other senior officers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Owais said that ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of Independence
He said, the Tri-colour flag is a symbol of pride for every Indian and it represents national integrity and signifies the hopes and aspirations of the Indian people.
The DC on the occasion lauded the efforts of students, teachers and all other concerned for organising such a grand and impressive rally and also appreciated the enthusiasm and zest of students to participate in the tiranga rally.
