Students, youth participate in Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at Tral

PULWAMA: Thousands of youth and students participated at a grand event showcasing National flags and singing patriotic songs at Tral here.
The event was organised under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – celebrating 75 years of Independence wherein students participated with the fervor and festivities of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.
Commissioner Secretary Rural Development Department (RDD), Mandeep Kaur also participated in the grand event.
Over 15000 school children and youth took part in patriotic songs during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary RDD said that the idea behind the initiative was to invoke a sense of ownership among people and to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of Jan Bhagidari (community participation).
She highlighted that the campaign aims to evoke the idea of hoisting the National Flag among citizens at their homes between August 13 and 15.
She also hailed the role of youth and the general public for making the campaign a mass movement.
The Commissioner Secretary highlighted that the active participation of youth and students has helped in making the campaign a grand success. She also invoked the ideas of freedom struggle among the participants and urged upon youth to cherish and follow those ideals.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary said that various events involving people from all walks of life will be organized at various locations connected with the freedom struggle.
He added that a series of activities like rallies, debates, quiz, painting competitions and cultural programmes are being held throughout the district to promote the campaign.
The DC appreciated the role of schools in making Har Ghar Tiranga a successful movement and said that the active participation of the youth has made the campaign a success in the district. He urged all the stakeholders to cooperate and coordinate in order to make the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative a grand success in the district.
During the event, Girl students from various schools evoked a lot of enthusiasm from the participants for the campaign.
