Encounter breaks out in Budgam village
Budgam, Aug 10: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at Waterhal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday morning, officials said.
They said that a joint team of RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The officials said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that three LeT terrorists including Lateef Rather who was involved in killing of Rahul Pandit and Amreen Bhat are trapped in ongoing encounter.
“03 militants of LeT(TRF) including Lateef Rather trapped in ongoing #encounter. Terrorist Lateef is involved in several #civilian #killings including Rahul Bhat & Amreen Bhat” Kashmir police zone tweeted while quoting ADGP Kashmir.
