SP college holds One-day national conference on
SRINAGAR: The Department of Water Management and P G Department of Environmental Science of S P College Srinagar on Friday organised a day long national conference on the theme ‘Environment & Water Resources Management: Challenges & Solutions’, here.
The event was organised in collaboration with J.J.T. University, Rajasthan with associate partnership from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi
The chief guest on the occasion was the Vice Chancellor Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Qayyum Hussain while chairperson J J T University Rajasthan Dr. Vinod Tibrewala was the guest of honour.
The principal of S. P. College, Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Khan in his online welcome address welcomed all the dignitaries, delegates and participants and encouraged all the students and faculty to participate more and more in such conferences for academic and research excellence.
The Vice Chancellor Cluster University Srinagar said that the theme of the conference is one of the high priorities in present times and it is the responsibility of researchers all over the world to find solutions to the problems of environmental pollution.
The chairperson of the JJT University, Rajasthan maintained that the theme of the conference is very close to his heart and said it is a high priority today with governments and the scientific community to ensure pollution free water supply to each household.
The key note address on the occasion was given by Prof. (Dr.) S. Mufeed Ahmad (Dept of Management Studies, University of Kashmir, Srinagar) who underlined that it is the responsibility of each and every one to perform his/her duty for environmental protection.
Guest lecture on the occasion was given by Anshuman (Associate Director Water Management Division, TERI New Delhi) who gave a detailed lecture on the different methods and techniques of water resources management and cited many case studies.
The conference received a very good response from researchers from all over the country and as many as 150 full length research papers and 260 research paper abstracts were received.
An electronic souvenir was released on the occasion to save paper. Select research presentations in separate technical sessions using both offline and online platforms.
