DC Budgam reviews progress of Skill Development, Panchayat Employment Plan, takes stock of JJM
BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Friday chaired a meeting to review Skill Development and Panchayat Employment Plan at the Conference Hall here.
At the outset, the DC stressed on imparting skilled training to the unemployed youth of the district to help them to get trained in various trades for becoming self-reliant and self employed.
He directed that all the line departments shall prepare a comprehensive skill development and panchayat Employment plan and submit it in a week’s time.
He emphasized on identification of local potential and suitable trades for the training of the youth for their proper hand holding.
The DC said that skilled training shall provide ample opportunities to the unemployed in both manufacturing and service sectors and help in tackling the rising graph of unemployment in the district.
He said the short term training courses shall be conducted for these youth under different schemes to ensure they become job providers instead of job seekers.
The Deputy Commissioner also chaired a meeting of officers to review updated progress on implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
The detailed review and status was put forth before DDC through a powerpoint presentation.
The chair was apprised that there are a total of 127555 households in the district which will be connected by the tap water connection. The total cost of the project is Rs 960 crore.
