Sopore hosts first Industrial football tournament
Sopore: The first Industrial football cup tournament, under lights, was inaugurated at Khushal Stadium in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Sunday.
The tournament was organised by industrial estate in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and around 48 football clubs across Kashmir have participated in the tournament.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Arco football club and Ali Jana football club.
Both the teams played aggressive and defensive games from the beginning and both teams succeeded to score 2-2 goals to level the game.
However, ARCO FC won the highly thrilling inaugural match in penalties.
Thousands of spectators enjoyed this high voltage football match under lights.
People from Sopore and adjoining areas gathered at the stadium. Out of passion for the game people thronged to the stadium using their cars, bikes, load carriers, tippers and other transport to reach the stadium.
