Nothing wrong in being a ‘backbencher’
Mohammad Nadeem Parray
In my opinion, first benchers gain good results and win teacher’s applause and appreciation. Whereas backbenchers are naughty, sometimes irritating, disturbing the class but trust me they are creative and their presence gains many memories.
If anyone want some creative ideas they must try to talk to backbench students…. see how the best ideas you get from them. Mostly backbenchers are funny, friendly and frank which helps them in dealing with many problems in life. They are very good in solving problems in life….and they can easily interact with strangers. They have a large number of friends, they can build memories and many other minor differences.
A person is defined by his knowledge, he may be front bencher or backbencher, the knowledge is not only imbibed by the books, but with other experiences too. I am actually not blaming the front benchers, I am just defining the life of backbenchers. Because I’m also a backbencher, till now I covered many days, many memories with my friends.
Well, coming to my question backbenchers are not disobedient, they are not mischievous. I agree, they make fun of others, they irritate, they disturb the whole class, makes funny jokes, but trust me those all gives best memories of school and college days.
Generally, teachers ask questions to front benchers before answering they maintain silence, meanwhile, backbenchers answers the question, which he/she read before two minutes in order to escape.
Generally, backbench students prefer more talking, thinking etc. Searching new thoughts to think. Searching the way to talk, observes the whole class while the class is going on. He/ She enjoys talking, thinking, watching the faces of their friends during the boring lecture.
Their minds work very fast and with fast speed and always trying to look out for some fun. The more the people thinks and more the mind works fast the more, the students works smart.
Backbenchers of school are not bad students. Often, they make fun, and also irritate others, but trust me, they are very creative and successful persons. As I see there is more knowledge you can gain on in the last row than the first.
We find three categories of students in every class. First benchers, middle benchers, back benchers. Mostly, front benchers succeed and will pass the exams with good marks on the other hand, backbenchers pass with poor marks or may even fail. So that is the reason, they are called losers, failures and teachers always shout at them.
Here toppers are successful in their school or college but backbenchers are successful in their life. Because toppers sail through using books while backbenchers don’t follow rules and regulations, they follow their creativity and techniques. For them there are no books or rules to be followed. Toppers generally fear to fail, as they cannot try without books, as something new.
Backbenchers gain so many memories like I have while I was studying. I used to do other works while the class lecture is boring. I used to finish my lunch before the lunch time. Eating in the class, while teacher is not watching you.
Sometimes, I used to sleep, when I felt tired, sleeping in the last bench made me feel comfortable.
Me and my friends used to make some silly chats in the piece of paper and always cracking jokes. Infinity talks, endless jokes made my day.
When I turn back, the studies did not make me happy, the memories I gained in my college life makes me happy.
Here after, we shouldn’t ignore or underestimate the power of backbenchers who might make wonders by becoming as successful as toppers. We can conclude comfortably that some of the backbenchers might become Abdul kalam in future and incidentally he too was a backbencher.
Backbenchers didn’t score marks but they create beautiful memories.
That is why even the great scientist and Former President APJ. Abdul Kalam also noted ‘the best brains of the nation may be found in the last benches of the classroom’.
