ADC Bandipora reviews tourism potential, developmental issues of Wullar lake
Bandipora: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Waseem Raja on Thursday chaired a meeting of concerned officers regarding the infrastructural issues of areas lying adjacent to Wullar lake.
The meeting was attended by coordinator WUCMA, DFO Bandipora Shabir Ahmad, BDO Bandipora Abdul Raqeeb, officers from PDD, PHE, R&B, Fishries, Naib Tehsildar Bandipora, representatives of fisherman community from Laharwalpora, mukdamyari and other concerned areas.
The meeting discussed various issues related to employment generation and development of tourism sector in the areas lying adjacent to Wullar lake including Laharwalpora, Banyari, Sk Payin and other areas.
“Wullar lake has lot of potential to provide employment to youth and uplifting the whole district,” the ADC said.
He urged the people to cooperate in maintaining the water quality and surroundings of Wullar lake.
He directed the concerned departments to put up extra efforts for improving the livilihood condition of fisherman communities and improving the conditions of area lying adjacent to Wullar lake for tourism promotion and employment generation.
He said innovation is the need to hour to promote tourism and upliftment of fisherman communities and development of areas lying adjacent to Wullar lake.
Waseem Raja said that the administration is committed to revive the pristine glory of Wullar lake and sought cooperation from locals in this regard.
