Eid-ul-Adha: Market checking drive held at Handwara
Kupwara: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir along with officers of Food and Civil Supplies, Revenue, Municipality and Police Friday inspected various markets of Handwara town.
The market inspection was conducted to ensure supply of essential commodities at government approved rates to the consumers and to avoid hoarding, black marketing and profiteering ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
During the inspection, Rs.1500 fine was imposed on 4 erring shopkeepers for violation of Government rate list and selling expired food items.
The shopkeepers were asked to strictly implement the Government approved rates.
