Police arrests two drug peddlers in Pulwama
Srinagar: Police in Pulwama arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession. Besides, police destroyed wild cannabis in Sopore and Bandipora, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party established a check point at Naina and intercepted a vehicle (Santro) bearing registration number CHO4K-0125 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Umar Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Dass resident of Waghama Bijbehara and Haroon Amin Sheikh son of Mohammad Amin Sheikh resident of Naina Pulwama. During search, 30Kgs of Fukki was recovered from the said vehicle. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, the spokesman added.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 73/2022 under relevant section of law has been registered in Police Station Litter and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, police in Sopore and Bandipora along with excise department officials destroyed wild cannabis (Bhung) spread over vast areas of land at Rohama Rafiabad and Muqdamyari village of Hajin, the spokesman concluded.
