Urs Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) commences with religious fervor in Sopore
Sopore: The annual Urs of Hazrat Amir-e-kabir Shahi Hamdan (RA) commenced at Khanqah-i-Moula Ziyarat in Sopore town on Wednesday.
The six day long Urs witnesses the special prayers during daily five time prayers.
An official from the Auqaf of Khanqah-i-Moula said all arrangements at the Shrine were in place including the facility of drinking water for the devotees.
The official said during the ‘Khatmaat and Moazmaat’, special prayers from afternoon prayers were observed since the first day of urs.
“On Wednesday (sixth Zilhaj) large congregational prayers of devotees including men, women and children from across the north Kashmir offered prayers at the shrine,” he said.
He said the devotees later took holly relic of Amir-e- kabir shahi hamdan (RA) and marched through out the locality of Khanqah-i- moula in a huge procession.
