Sopore neglected town, needs government’s attention: Irshad Kar

Sopore: Senior leader of National Conference Irshad Rasool Kar on Friday said Sopore town was neglected by the authorities and needs government attention to regain its lost glory.
He made these remarks during a block level meeting held in Sopore.
The meeting was chaired by block committee president Ghulam Hassan while Irshad Rasool karw was chief guest on the occasion.
During the meeting various public and organizational issues were discussed.
In the meeting it was told that Sopore being a historical town was completely neglected while people were given step-motherly treatment.
“All sections of the society in Sopore are facing difficulties as there is no dumping site for dumping garbage so far, which is a burning issue for both general public as well as the sanitation workers in Sopore, Kar said.
He said there was no proper vegetable market within the town and demanded that a vegetable market should be set up in Sopore as well.
In the meeting various speakers demanded improvement in the power transmission system saying that electrical poles were lying broken in most parts of Sopore and the condition of transmission lines was dilapidated as well.
“The failure of the drainage system needs to be improved and repaired so that the waste water accumulated in the drains can be drained properly,” the speakers said.
Irshad kar also demanded SRTC Yard and construction of a mini secretariat in Sopore town.
He said that the installation of digital electricity meters was causing trouble to the people and demanded rollback of the decision.
