Police seizes tractors for illegal extraction of minerals
Sopore: The J&K Police on Thursday seized 12 tractors for illicit trafficking of minerals from Nallah in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad.
As per the handout issued here, a joint Police team of Police Station Dangiwacha and Police Post Watergam under under command and control of SDPO Rafiabad conducted raids at Nallah Hamal Yarbugh and seized 12 tractors, which were engaged in illicit mining of minerals from the Nallah.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 76/2022 under relevant sections of law of Indian Penal Code has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha.
The police have urged the public to adhere to the terms and conditions of their permits, wherever applicable, and to not destroy the ecology of their areas by engaging in illicit mining of minerals.
