Pulwama: The residents of Lelhara Kakapora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded macadamisation of their main road.
The residents of Dar Mohalla Lelhara residing on the bank of river Jhelum said that the road leading to the area has never been macadamised, causing inconveniences to locals.
Zahid Hussain a local resident said that we are witnessing that minor link roads are being macadamised but due to unknown reasons, our road which is connecting hundreds of households is being neglected.
“Our school going children and patients are suffering due to the dilapidated condition of the road,” he said.
Another resident, Ghulam Qadir Dar said the road has never been developed in the last more than 60 years.
“Presently I am around 60 years old, but have never seen authorities macadamise this road,” he said.
The road witnesses’ huge flow of traffic but the dilapidated condition gives tough time to commuters.
“We have brought this issue to the notice of higher ups dozens of times who always assure us that the road will be macadamised but these assurances prove a hoax on ground,” the residents said.
The residents urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and macadamise the road.
