Incessant rains inundates Qaimoh Kulgam road

Kulgam: Dozens of roads in south Kashmir parts were submerged on Wednesday due to the incessant rains witnessed throughout Kashmir.
The residents of Qaimoh in Kulgam district said the main road from Khudwani to Kulgam gets submerged in water every time it rains in the area.
“The rainfall continued for two days and the whole road was drenched in water which has caused inconvenience to the locals,” a local residents said.
The locals blamed the “illegal construction” on Nallah Vishow and Nallah Giri in the area saying that the water gets blocked near the construction site resulting in inundation of the roads.
“Currently around 2 Km road is under water due to which people of hundreds of villages are suffering. This is main road which links Anantnag with Kulgam,” said Nazir Ahmad, another resident of the area.
“A bypass from Khudwani to Matalhama was constructed so that this route can be used whenever there are such issues but due to unknown reasons, road hasn’t been opened yet, said another resident.
Similarly residents of Hari Parigam in Awantipora area of Pulwama said that the area has not been cleaned since last several years due to which water gets blocked and inundates their lawns.
Residents of both Qaimoh Kulgam Awantipora have appealed concerned authorities to look into the matter and take necessary steps to avoid inconvenience of the public.
