Srinagar, June 22: Authorities in Anantnag, Kulgam and Ramban districts on Wednesday ordered suspension of class work in all schools in the districts. In Srinagar also many private schools have announced closure of schools.

Official sources said that the decision was taken in view of the heavy rains in the districts.

“In view of very heavy rains in Anantnag district, class work in all primary, middle and High schools of district shall remain suspended today,” Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Piyush Singla said.

Meanwhile, police in Budgam has issued helpline numbers in case any emergency situation arises.

In view of inclement weather/continuous rainfall and erratic weather forecast in the district, people of Budgam are requested to contact following helpline numbers in case of any emergency or distress related to present weather conditions especially in far flung areas & areas prone to landslides.
