Milk testing held at Shopian under ‘Eat Right India’ programme

SHOPIAN: Under ‘Eat Right India’ initiative and on the directions of Commissioner Food & Drug Administration, a mobile testing van was deputed to District Shopian to conduct on spot milk testing.
A total of 13 loose milk samples were tested on spot among which five samples failed the test that was conducted by Parveena Marazi and Technician Gh Hassan.
The Food Safety officer concerned was directed to collect the legal samples.
During the special drive, a total number of 18 samples of different food items including milk were lifted. Also a programme of awareness and training was conducted under Eat Right School, Eat Right campaign at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian. The staff and the students participated in the programme.
A detailed training and awareness were imparted by the Food Analyst and Nodal officer MFTV Parveena Marazi.
The Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Shopian, Gh Qadir Azhar on the occasion gave details of the benefits of fortified food staples which help in removing the malnutrition in children, women and adults.
