Locals hopeful to get rid of power vows in winter

Awantipora: The execution work on the much awaited receiving station in Aripal area of Tral hamlet in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is going on in full swing.
Locals said that after a long time, work on the receiving station has been started and expressed hope that it will end the power crisis in the area particularly during winters.
According to locals, the receiving station for the Aripal area was approved some four years ago after repeated protests by residents of the area.
“But due to unknown reasons, work was not started till date,” the locals said.
They said the work on receiving station Aripal started and after locals continuously put forth their requests for the approval of the much needed project in the area.
“Now that the work is going on in full swing, we are hopeful it will end the power crisis in over a dozen villages of the area,” the locals said.
Notably, hundreds of households and the students of the area used to face tough times during winter months due to unscheduled power supply in the area.
“This is a dream project for locals and once it will get completed, people of the area can get rid of unscheduled power supply,” said Nawaz Ahmad, a local resident.
The locals requested authorities to complete the project in a time bound manner.
Meanwhile, an official of the department said the work was going on in full swing and it will be completed before the end of this year.
