Dulloo reviews CAPEX, CSS, PMDP, NABARD of Horticulture and allied sectors

SRINAGAR: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo FRiday chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements of Horticulture and allied sectors under CAPEX, Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) and NABARD.
The meeting was attended by Secretary in Agriculture Production Department, Special Secretary, Horticulture Department, Director Horticulture Kashmir, Director Horticulture (P&M), MD, JKHPMC, J&K. Jammu based officers will attend the meeting through VC.
While chairing the meeting, ACS took review of the expenditure under the schemes since the inception and also took department wise details of plan/releases/expenditure for the year 2021-22. He also discussed the component wise breakup of subsidies for purchase of farm machinations, equipments etc for the both the divisions of Kashmir and Jammu.
He directed the officers to remain proactive to the needs of the farming community and deliver with speed. He directed them to create awareness among the farmers through extension programmes and fix targets and start working on the ground to meet the deadlines.
The HoDs of different sectors gave a presentation over the approved outlay plan under CAPEX Budget, CSS, PMDP and NABARD of Horticulture and allied departments for the year 2022-23. The meeting also held a threadbare discussion on major targets and achievements for the year 2022-23 under CAPEX and other schemes.
The meeting also discussed Physical achievements under MIDH since it’s inception and was given out that an area of 13892 ha has been brought under orchards and 4641 hectares of old and senile orchards have been rejuvenated. It was also given out that 1428 Vermi compost units have been established, 1025 Bore well/Tube wells have been created. It was further given out that an area of 1539 ha has been brought under vegetables and 687 ha under flowers and 72 ha have been brought under Protected Cultivation.
While discussing the major Physical achievements of Horticulture under PMDP, it was given out that an area of 50 ha has been brought under High Density Plantation, 113 hac under Medium Density and 75 nurseries have been established. It was also given out that assistance has been provided to 18 CA Storage Units and 14 Food Processing Units. It was also given out that an area of 2184 ha has been brought under vegetable cultivation and under irrigation Infrastructure, 132 Bore wells have been constructed. Under Horticulture Mechanization, assistance on purchase of 16203 different types of Machinery has been provided and wholesale markets have been established.
