Huge quantity of poppy straw recovered in Pulwama
Srinagar: Police in Pulwama recovered huge quantity of poppy straw in Litter area of south Kashmir, a police spokesman said.
He said that police received information that a person identified as Gulzar Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Litter Pulwama has been indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a large quantity of contraband substances at his residential house.
Acting swiftly, a Police Party from PS Litter alongwith concerned Magistrate conducted raid at a specific location. During search 15 Kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from the said residential house. However, the accused person has managed to escape from the spot and efforts are on to effect his arrest.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 47/2022 under relevant sections of law. has been registered in Police Station Litter and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
