PHE dept clarifies news on filtration plant
Pulwama: The Jal Shakti Department Pulwama Thursday clarified over a news item published in local newspapers.
“The Water Supply Scheme Ukhoo has source River which is being lifted and after proper retention period and chlorination is then supplied to the inhabitants of the village Uultimo,” a departmental official said.
“The Water supply scheme has pressure Alter as filter unit which has got damaged and is defunct. The issue of making pressure filter workable has been taken up under JJM retrofitting programme for which allotment stands issued to the contractor. The notice has been issued to the contractor to start the work on priority basis in consolation with Mechanical counterpart. Also a site visit has been arranged between AEE (Meth) and the contractor to start the work of revamping of pressure filter,” the official added.
Notably, the locals had complained about lack of potable water in the area alleging that a water supply scheme supplying potable water to the area is defunct.
