Encounter breaks out in Shopian village in south Kashmir
Srinagar, May 09: An encounter has started between terrorists and government forces in Shirmal Zainapora south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Heff Shirmal.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed about the exchange of fire. He said that two terrorists are believed to be trapped.
