Use of NMMS emphasized for bringing in efficiency
JAMMU: Emphasizing on ensuring efficient use of National Mobile Monitoring Software (NMMS) Application, Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, Tuesday directed ADDCs to play proactive role in implementation of this App in their respective districts.
Addressing a meeting attended by the Director, RDD Jammu and Kashmir, ADDCs, ACDs and other concerned officers, Commissioner Secretary said that this is an important application to bring transparency and ensure proper monitoring of the schemes on ground.
Pertinent to mention, the App restrains the bogus attendance and pilferage of wages under MGNREGA scheme. It records real time attendance of workers by uploading the geo tagged photographs of worksites so that only genuine beneficiaries get paid.
Commissioner Secretary further added that the App will also help to determine whether all the facilities are available on the worksite, including child care and water.
She laid special emphasis on holding training programmes for field officials so that they are able to use the App proficiently.
