Two drug peddlers booked under PIT NDPS Act in Budgam, Another held in Sopore
Srinagar: Police on Friday arrested two notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act in Budgam, a police spokesman said.
He said that two drug habitual offenders and notorious drug peddlers Khalid Hussain Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi resident of Iqbalabad Charar-e-Sharief and Amir Ahmed Ganie son of Khazir Mohammad Ganie resident of Pujj-Mohalla Chadoora were arrested for their involvement in drug peddling. Both the drug peddlers have been detained under PIT NDPS Act through orders issued by the competent authority.
In another incident police arrested another notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in Sopore north Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Hadipora crossing intercepted one person roaming in suspicious manner. During search, 07 grams of Heroin like substance were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as identified Sajad Ahmad Lone son of Farooq Ahmad Lone resident of Lorihama Rafiabad. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 38/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation set into motion, the spokesman added.
