ACB arrests two JEs, Inspector for taking bribe

Srinagar: Two Junior Engineers (JEs) and an Inspector of Power Development Department (PDD) were trapped and arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team at PDD office Tangmarg on Wednesday while taking a bribe of Rs. 2,60,000, a spokesman of the ACB said.
He said that the arrested three employees of PDD accepted the bribe from a person for installation of an electric transformer for his Ice Cream factory, situated at Gofabal Kunzer.
The three arrested employees have been identified as JE Munshi Masood Ahmad, a resident of Hubbi Colony Sikh bagh Lalbazar; JE Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Watapora Qazipora Pothshahi Baramulla and Inspector Abdul Rashid Bhat, a resident of Wussan Bangil Kunzer.
He said that an FIR no. 12 of 2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in the case and investigation taken up.
