Srinagar: The work on a school building in Ayend Rawalpora village in Shopian is going at a snail’s pace due to which the students are suffering, locals alleged.
They said that one of the buildings of the government school got damaged during a fire incident in 2017 and since then the work on the building has not been completed.
They said that soon after the incident, work on new building started in the area but the concerned construction agency has failed to complete it.
They said that work on the building is going on at snail’s pace as even after four years after the construction work started the building has no windows and other necessary items infrastructure in place.
They further added that the school which has roll of over 100 students is currently functioning from two old and small blocks.
Teachers have been renovating old building on their own so that students won’t suffer but no attention is being provided to complete the under construction building.
Unfinished structure could be used for nefarious activities so authorities must look into the matter at an earliest, the locals said.
