Health department refutes news on ‘incomplete’ PHC Gundipora

Srinagar: The Health department on Tuesday rebutted news in a section of media over ‘incomplete’ PHC Gundipora, saying that the issue of completing civil and other works on the building will be followed up by the administrative department of the H&ME.
A spokesman of the department said that the work on PHC Gundipora in Budgam was taken up in hand by the Executing Agency JKHB during the year2011-12 at an estimated cost of Rs143.00Lacs against which 134.00Lacs stands released.
“The work was expanded by way of sufficient provision of residential quarter hall of size 38×34 resulting of revision of cost to the tune of Rs 273.00Lacs. The building has been completed and some works which have not been executed are sanitary electrification and painting, chain link fencing and grills,” the spokesman said.
He said that the work was left half way since long due to non availability of funds
“In order to complete the project in all respect the matter was taken up with the Administrative Department for consideration of the project under languishing among other projects vide this officer letter No. DHSK/PLG/ii/19/4142 dated 27.02.2020and letter no. DHSK/PLG/ii/136/19/5300 dated 31.12.2020, so that the work is completed in all respects in the interest of patient care and the demand of the locals of the area is readdressed,” the spokesman said.
He said that the matter shall be followed up in the Admin Department of H&ME.
