BANDIPORA: The Revenue Officers of the district under the over-all supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad have adopted a very strict approach against illegal occupants and the eviction drives have been intensified during last 03 months across the district resulting in eviction of about 1200 Kanals of Kahcharie land, 1900 Kanals of State land, 1000 Kanals of Custodian land and 750 kanals of Migrant land.
The DC hailed the efforts of the field officers of Revenue Department and other law enforcing agencies, including police that ensured the retrieval of the land. He called for adopting zero tolerance for encroachment and urged the officers to identify the encroachment and retrieve it immediately.
He said that the encroachers wherever occupying the state land, Kahcharie and other land should vacate it immediately and not compel the administration to conduct anti-encroachment drives and initiate other legal action.
Dr Owais sought support and cooperation of the general public and PRIs for retrieval of encroached land so that the same can eventually be utilized for building of public amenities/ infrastructure.
