AHD Kupwara organizes distribution cum awareness camp

KUPWARA: Animal Husbandry Department (AHD) Kupwara Monday organized a distribution cum awareness camp under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) at Environment Hall Handwara.
The camp was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din.
DDC Member Rajwar, Suliman Mir and Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Kupwara, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Teli were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that the aim of conducting the camp is to provide benefit of high yielding varieties of chicken to the tribal farmers belonging to the far flung areas of Kupwara district so as to increase their livelihood.
He impressed upon the beneficiaries to take proper care of the chicken distributed to them so that they could get timely benefits.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the unemployed youth to come forward and register themselves with the Employment Department as the Government has envisaged different self employment schemes for them.
Earlier, CAHO informed that 217 beneficiaries have been selected for establishment of poultry units under TSP scheme from Rajwar cluster for which they will be provided training of 3 days. He said each beneficiary will be provided 100 chiks, 2 feeders, 2 drinkers, 50 kilo feed, cash of Rs. 3000 for night shelter of the birds.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner along with DDC Member Rajwar and CAHO distributed the contents among the beneficiaries.
