DC Budgam reviews Navroz arrangements

Stresses on intensive market checking, rate regulation of essentials commodities

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Tuesday reviewed the arrangements for the ensuing Navroz festival.
In this regard, the DC chaired a meeting and stressed on concerned for carrying out intensive market checking drives to ensure official rate regulation on all essential commodities is strictly adhered to by traders.
The DC on the occasion directed the Fisheries department to ensure availability of trout and carp fish for sale at the designated locations, besides he also instructed the department to keep fish available for consumers at all identified places.
The Executive Officers of all concerned Municipal Committees were instructed to conduct pre and post festival special cleanliness drives in all areas.
The DC directed officials of FCS&CA and MC to conduct rigorous market inspection and ensure no black marketing or unfair trade practice is taking place in the markets.
The Health department was directed to ensure availability of staff and ambulances at all sub centres, besides with regard to availability of ration, the AD Food was instructed to ensure supply of Ration including other essentials at all centers and further they were directed to remain open on Sunday too for the convenience of the Shia population.
During the meeting, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer said that the department has made arrangements to keep poultry birds available for consumers and the stocks would be kept available at identified locations and in addition mobile sale centers will also provide chickens to the consumers.
The DC also directed the Department of PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply in the Shia populated areas.
Among others, the meeting was attended by JD Planning, Ex. Engineer PDD, ARTO, officers of PHE, FCS&CA, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Municipal Committees.
