Mahfooz Ahmad Bakshi
On March 8th we celebrated the day as International women’s day. Celebrating the day means that we acknowledge the importance of women.
Allah created every creature of the universe and human beings as well, then Allah (SWT) gave humans the prestigious title as ‘crown of the creation’ because humans are supposed to be empathetic, sympathetic, united and so on. But as all of us know that the crown suits on the heads, so he created women, who can put the crown on and take care of their empire.
In short, just like the brain in the head takes care of the whole body, the same is the case with women; they take care of whole families. Women have a greater need in society actually in every single city/state/country. Do you know why?
Because without women there would be no village, without village there would be no community without community there would be no country. We have reached the moon, right? But do you know that behind the successful moon landing there was a woman who gave birth to Neil Arm Strong. But why don’t we appreciate them, why do we always say or write that women are weak, and men are strong
We all also mention that women are meant to be housewives! Who are allowed to wash the dishes, sweep, cook and perform all the work inside home! Why are we so unfair to them?
Allah says that the men and the women have equal dignity. Whatever man can do, so can the women, a woman can earn, a woman can travel and a woman can do whatever she will but the only thing that she should keep in mind is, she must follow the rules and regulations of Islam for they are meant to produce benefits. In front of almighty we are all equal then who are we to create the diversion based on gender.
It’s unfortunate to mention that our sisters and mothers are caged in kitchens, they cannot go outside even their male individuals whether it’s brother, father, husband or anything because the people of our society have gone insane, every street has been occupied by people who humiliate women. Who criticize women for the dress she wears, for the way she walks, talks! Our society’s values have deteriorated.
Women are not housekeepers but house makers. They make and build up our homes and our society, there is a huge contribution of women for the growth of a man. But unfortunately we so-called civilized humans cannot let women breathe, we will bully, we will criticize because we are HYPOCRITES, and hypocrisy is in our blood. We give sermons, lectures and speeches about protecting women but most of the people are actually included in harassment of women, unfortunately.
If we scroll on facebook or Instagram just for a second, we will definitely see and read the news about minor girls getting raped, murdered, even smuggled. Flabbergasting! Females are the steering of a car that keeps the car on the track and drives it towards the destinations. Most superior importance of women is that the whole paradise lies beneath their feet, and if we keep imprisoning our women then how can we win the paradise?
The Qur’an says that women have souls in exactly the same way as men and will enter Paradise if they do good. The Prophet (PBUH) uplifted the status of women from that of being the property of men to that of equal status in the society with accorded rights and dignity.
The Prophet (PBUH) paid special attention to the women in his society, who previously had been denied any rights, freedom and space. He was patient and kind towards them and listened to their plight. When our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH) have given such respect to women then why don’t we? As the believers we must follow the footsteps of our prophet (PBUH) that’s we must respect the women.
Allama Iqbal said. ‘Wujood-E-Zan- Se Hai Tasveer-E-Kainaat Mai Rang’.
‘Iss Ke Saaz Se Hai Zindgi Ka Sooz-E-Darun’
Woman is the lyre than can import pathos and warmth to human heart. Any form of emotional or psychological abuse or any kind of unethical treatment of women is prohibited in Islam. Even Islamic religion strongly disallows any form of oppression or abuse.
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said “the best among you is the best towards his wife”. Due to imposition and extension of lockdown domestic violence cases are on hike and the situation is going worst with a number of reasons responsible for growing menace including wrong use of internet, drug abuse, unemployment, stress due to past two years of pandemic as youth are addicted to drug abuse and that also become the reason for martial conflicts and finally leads to divorce.
I was literally shocked when I saw some morons chasing a girl and compelling her to uncover her body! Do you remember ancient people, they were roaming naked all around then as the time passed they discovered clothes which mean they got advanced, and at that time they discovered clothes then imagine it’s 21st century and we are compelling women to uncover themselves! Are we running forward or backwards? Obviously we are running towards destruction.
If we think a little about what women can do then we men will be ashamed of ourselves. Recently JKBOSE declared the results of higher secondary students and the top scorers were girls, they broke the records. Nowadays, women have achieved what men can never even imagine.
Women have slapped with their slippers on the faces of roadside Romeos who used to talk ill behind women, who used to say that women are meant to be their slaves. Dear roadside Romeos you should stop irking women, if you want to protect your wives, sisters and mothers.
In conclusion I want to leave a question for you, the question is “Is humanity all about caging women, teasing women, and most importantly are women weaker than men or men are weaker than women?
As the followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) we must respect women.
