Four drug peddlers held in Budgam
Budgam: Police arrested four drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that police personnel established a check point at Adina Crossing Magam and intercepted four persons roaming in suspicious condition who tried to flee from the spot when directed to stop.
“All the four were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. During search, 480 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon Plus and 50 grms of charas were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Nayeem Akbar Wani son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Agrikalan Magam, Zahid Ahmad Bhat son of Late Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Pethkanihama, Irfan Ahmad Hajam son of Abdul Hamid and Irfan Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad both residents of Aripanthan. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 36/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation set into motion, the spokesman added.
