Respected Sir,
The untimely demise of spin legend Shane Warne has left cricket fans numb and speechless. When I was in Standard I, I was so fascinated by Warne’s bowling that I had pasted the name stickers of him in all my book covers.
Shane Warne was among the few bowlers who brought a new life to the art of spin bowling in international cricket. Generations will remember his incredible delivery to Mike Gatting in the 1993 Ashes Test where the ball after pitching outside leg, drifted 90 degrees and crashed into the off stump.
It is a great disbelief that the veteran bowler is no more with us. But the legacy he has left behind will keep on inspiring the young and upcoming cricketers. May his soul rest in peace.
