Police arrests notorious drug peddler
Srinagar: Police Thursday arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established near Petrol Pump Magam intercepted a suspicious person carrying a polythene bag. He has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Beigh son of Manzoor Ahmed Beigh resident of Badran Magam.
During checking, officers were able to recover 480 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon Plus and 03 bottles of Codeine based syrup from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 29/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
