Heavy Snowfall: Electricity restored in most parts of south Kashmir
PDD on toes to restore electricity in all areas: Officials
Anantnag: Most parts of the south Kashmir barring Kulgam district have witnessed restoration of electricity after hectic efforts by the PDD officials on ground, however, there are some parts in Anantnag, Pulwama and Shopian and most part of Kulgam which were yet to receive electricity.
The officials in Anantnag district have managed to restore power supply in most parts of the district, however, there are some areas in Bijbehara sub division where electricity is yet to restored, an official said.
Locals from Mehand, Wopzan, K Kalan and other area of Bijbehara were yet to get electricity after snowfall.
AEE concerned Bashir Ahmad said that they are on job and are trying to restore it as soon as possible.
He said that the snowfall had damaged the power infrastructure to a large extent and it took us days to restore it.
Similarly, most parts of Pulwama district and Shopian have been also received electricity however, there are some areas like Rakh, Zahidbagh and Darbagh where electricity is yet to be restored.
Officials said that men are on the job and are working to restore electricity in the area at an earliest.
Meanwhile, most areas of Kulgam district are yet to get electricity after snowfall as Kulgam has suffered huge damages to the power infrastructure.
An official from Kulgam said that damage caused to the infrastructure is what we had not expected but despite that we have managed to provide electricity to hospital and other emergency services in the district.
Work on the damaged towers is going on at Wanpoo and we are trying our level best to complete it and restore electricity in the entire district.
