Police arrests two drug peddlers
Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that police personnel at a checkpoint established at Waskoora Ganderbal intercepted a vehicle (Xylo) bearing registration number JK15-0610 with two persons on board.
During search, officers were able to recover 15 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 128 capsules of banned drugs from their possession. They have been identified as Bilal Ah Parry son of Ali Mohammad Parry resident of Wangipora Sumbal and Javid Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie resident of Lar. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
